After striking the match, the smoker must first hold the edge of the cigar over the flame. It is important that the smoker does not touch the cigar to the fire. Then the smoker just has to hold the cigar over the flame and draw deeply until the cigar is lit. When Do You Stop? Many people feel that it is necessary to continue smoking till you reach the nub of the cigar. However, experts advise that ideally at least two inches of the cigar must be left by the smokers. The reason for this is that all the cigars, irrespective of their quality, taste bitter if they are burnt right till the end. It is not necessary to knock off the ashes of the cigar in the ashtray. The cigar can simply be rested on the ashtray and the ashes fall off automatically. Smoke in Leisure and with Great Pleasure The primary rule of cigar smoking says that a cigar must always be smoked at leisure and never be hurried. The best time to light a cigar is after dinner. The smoker must enjoy every cigar puff with a glass of superb brandy. Cigar smoking requires the smoker to follow certain etiquettes. The smoker must first hold the cigar between the thumb and fingers. A cigarette held in anyway other than this is not considered very well. Also, inhaling deeply must be particularly avoided. This leads to the smoke going into the lungs. This has an adverse effect on the health. It also degrades the taste of the cigar and thereby ruins the actual fun of cigar smoking. The smoker must be extremely careful of the people around. Cigar smokers must make it a point to smoke cigars along with other cigar smokers and avoid smoking among non-smokers.
